Her home was a constant gathering place for family and friends. She served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations, fed the missionaries often, and was always there when people were in need. Lana was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. Lana had three children (Jeff, Jennifer, and Gina) and five grandchildren (Alex, Jordan, Jake, Joshaua, and Indya). They were happily married for 54 years until Ed's passing in 2016. Lana married Edward Samples on March 31, 1962, in Pasadena, California and were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in September of 1966. Lana was raised by her parents Walter and Lucille Dailey in Los Angeles where she graduated from Eagle Rock High School. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is assisting Mary's family with services.Lana Lei Samples finished her earthly mission and departed this life on October 13, 2021, at the age of 81. Private funeral services will be held Friday, at 11 am with Celebrant Jerry Wilson officiating, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman (Youngstown), Ohio.

Her hobbies included sewing clothing, cross stitching samplers and reupholstering furniture. When Mary and John were blessed with children, Mary focused her life on her family. John and Mary were married on November 12, 1952.Īt Youngstown Hospital, one of Mary's responsibilities was examining under microscope dyed tissue sample slides she prepared during surgeries and determining if all cancerous cells had been removed before the doctors completed their work. While at Youngstown College she met John Hutchison Lehman. Mary graduated from Youngstown College earning her bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. and Vernetta Elizabeth Martine, Mary was born Jin New Castle, Pennsylvania.
